Xbox for sure is still active, except for shangri la, shi no numa and zetsubou no shima if that helps you decide which maps to get. Basically ZC has a lot of players active and it's safe to get all the dlc except dlc 2 or whichever it was that had zetsubou, it was the shi no numa of black ops 3 like shangri la was the shi no numa of black ops 1.

Lots of EE, mods and challenges you can do #3. of people playing zombies but your best way to find ppl to play zombies with is on discord servers like lfg servers or black ops 3 discord #13. PS4 zombies is still fairly active but primarily on SOE, Kino, Origins. You may struggle to play coop with randoms on some of the other maps. They show % active for each lobby and maps like GK and Rev are always 1% or 0%. The others are usually between a few % to 10% and the 3 maps listed at the start are normally 20-30%. Probably the best Zombies of the lot, although co-op BO3 - were it actually safe to play online on PC now - gives it a good run for it's money. Population is fine for core game modes, here in Asia, but speciality playlists are all but dead. See very little cheating in my SBMM bracket, but a lot of very good players.
